Since 1923, Madame Alexander dolls have been delighting children of all ages.  Founded by Beatrice Alexander, the Alexander Doll Company has crafted award-winning dolls that draw on the inspirations in arts, literature, and a wide variety of cultures.  Each doll bears witness to Madame Alexander’s commitment to inspiring wonderment, joy and excitement in children of all ages.

The Alexander Doll Company has played an important role in the history of doll making, achieving many notable firsts.  In the 1930s, the company developed the first dolls to be based on licensed movie characters, launching a timeless tradition of movie merchandising.  The company also developed the first “sleep” eyes that opened and closed.  With dolls commemorating living people, such as Queen Elizabeth in 1953, to those that celebrated the Armed Forces, Madame Alexander Dolls are as timeless as they are beautiful, and make an excellent addition to any collection.
