Galen Description
Galen in Whisperland is a 22 inch tall, ball-jointed doll (BJD) cast in the finest baby-tone resin. This fun-loving, frolicking faun proudly boasts two ram's horns that are nested in his wild and curly blond hair. Like his goat tail, Galen's horns are magnetic for easy removal. His goat-like ears are droopy to add to his faunish look. His fresh, sun-kissed skin tone is achieved by Joe's own special airbrushing technique followed by the application of a sealer to ensure durability of the hand applied body blushing. To enhance Galen's faceup, his eyebrows and bottom eyelashes are painted one-by-one to achieve a natural look. Various tones of pink are combined with glaze to give his lips the perfect natural luster. His striking hazel eyes are handmade by Joe in a very intricate process that uses the finest resin and acrylic. The artist uses his own special formula to achieve many levels of color and then applies a clear lens to enhance the depth of field giving Galen a very natural, vivid look and expression.
Seventeen points of articulation make Galen's poses fun and extremely lifelike. He is well balanced and stands firmly on his own without the aid of a doll stand. Galen has the body of a boy and the legs of a goat. His legs are hand-sculpted with meticulous detail to resemble fur and airbrushed in four different tones to complement his hair color. If you look closely at Galen's hands and feet, you will appreciate the many fine details the artist has added.
Around Galen's neck is a magical golden acorn bestowing upon him a talent for music. He plays a Romanian-style ancient pan flute that Joe sculpted by hand. Galen stores his beloved flute in a hand-crafted pouch that hangs around his shoulder. His vest is reversible in two colors: forest green and chocolate brown. Each button is sculpted by hand to resemble acorns. Joe uses real fur for Galen's loin cloth.
