Annette
Himstedt
has been recognized for many years as one of the world's premier
doll designers. Over the past two decades, she has created
dolls noted for their realism, expression, and
exquisite materials. Ms. Himstedt draws her inspiration from
children she has seen, as well as from the work of Swedish
painter and poet Carl Larsson (1853-1919) and the Moravian
painter Alfonso Mucha (1860-1939). Her dolls have won numerous
awards.
The 2008 collection will be introduced in three installments--Winter Kinder (introduced in January 2008), Spring Kinder (to be introduced in May 2008) and Summer Kinder (to be introduced in September 2008). The collection includes two Club dolls (which require a Himstedt Club membership). All of the Himstedt dolls are made of hand-painted vinyl, with mouth-blown glass eyes, human hair, and outfits that make extensive use of exquisite hand-dyed fabrics, including linen fabrics, linen and twisted buttons, bows of silk, lace, and velvet, and hand-knitted socks. The level of craftsmanship evident in this collection is extraordinary.
Beginning with the 2007 collection, Himstedt drastically reduced the number of dealers to only 33 worldwide, including just 8 in the USA. Toni's Collectibles is pleased to have been selected as one of the 8 USA authorized dealers for Himstedt dolls.
We offer our Himstedt customers the following special benefits, which apply to the entire 2008 collection:
- Free shipping on all Himstedt dolls to any location in the continental USA. Shipping at actual cost to overseas locations.
- Free doll stand with every doll (unless you do not want a doll stand).
- Opportunity to see photographs of the actual dolls when they arrive and to choose which one you would like. We normally send out photos of five dolls, and if you don't fall in love with any of those, we'll send you photos of additional dolls that are available. You can see photos of as many of our available dolls as you like. Those who ordered earliest will have the first choices.
- The most flexible layaway programs available. We offer three standard programs: 60-day, 90-day, and our special $100 down, $100 a month plan. If you would like to arrange something different, we are open to any reasonable proposal.
- $100 Off Himstedt Club membership to anyone who buys a Club doll or any two 2008 Himstedt dolls. FREE 2008 Himstedt Club membership to anyone who buys at least five 2008 Himstedt dolls.
To pre-order a doll, we require a deposit of at least $100 per doll. Once confirmations have been announced to us by Himstedt, buyers have the option to raise their deposit fo 25% of the total and pay nothing further until the doll is ready to ship (at which time the balance is due), to stay with the $100 a month plan, or to devise a different layaway plan.
